Sun Rivers is known for its resort like feel with gorgeous landscaping throughout the community. Located five to ten minutes from downtown Kamloops amenities and ten to fifteen minutes from uptown shopping. Sun Rivers is a great central location for residents. There are a wide range of properties in this area such as condos, townhomes, adult oriented communities, bare land strata type developments, single family homes and estate properties. Sun Rivers is located on Kamloops Indian Band land however the lease is a 99 year prepaid lease with the Government of Canada. This means that the properties in the area are able to be financed with most banks and financial institutions.

There are no schools located in Sun Rivers. There is a local restaurant and clubhouse for the golf course. Sun Rivers does have plans for a commercial centre but it has not materialized yet. In 2018 public transportation came to the Sun Rivers community making it more accessible for all who live there.

There are a number of walking trails throughout Sun Rivers that boast beautiful views of the river and valley below as well as the surrounding hillside.
