This neighbourhood has seen a considerable amount of development over the last decade which is ongoing today. Aberdeen is serviced by two elementary schools and features many smaller neighbourhoods within the area. There are a number of different types of homes for buyers to choose from such as condos, townhouses, single family homes and estate properties. Since Aberdeen sits in the south west portion of Kamloops the neighbourhood benefits from a number of green belts, parks and recreational opportunities. Aberdeen is a popular family area and known to have smaller residential lots that are lower maintenance than those areas of Kamloops that have sprawling yards. Since Aberdeen is located at a higher elevation than Kamloops city centre, it does experience a bit of a different climate with it being a few degrees cooler in temperature from the bottom of the valley to the top of Aberdeen.
